
Eric S. Elkins is the educational consultant for Terranova Pictures and works closely with Joni Goheen and Dr. Debbie Mack to ensure U.S. educational standards are being met in all content developed for large format cinema and related products, including teacher classroom guides and websites.
Mr. Elkins, award-winning Youth Content Editor for the Denver Newspaper Agency, is also a freelance writer with a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. His "Space Place" syndicated column currently runs in the Los Angeles Times, the Columbus Dispatch, the Dallas Fort Worth Star Telegram, The Denver Post and other newspapers around the country. He writes educational materials for Weekly Reader, Inc. and his book, "School Tools: Structures for Learning," is being used in classrooms across the U.S. He is also a contributing editor for UnderGroundOnline and editor of 16:9 Magazine.
Mr. Elkins is a member of the Youth Editorial Alliance (YEA), and a part of the YEA Ambassador team. Elkins is also a fellow at the Casey Foundation for Children and Families and at the Newspaper Association of America Foundation.
As a corporate trainer for US West, and Mid-America Computer Corporation, he developed curricula, models of teaching and training materials for internal and external courses. Mr. Elkins traveled around the country, instructing customers in the use enterprise software and other products.
Working as an elementary school teacher, Mr. Elkins was a district instructor in assessment, facilitated statewide assessment standards-setting with the Colorado Department of Education and was a member of the Douglas County Social Studies curriculum council. During this time, he was also co-author of a multicultural education program with The Denver Post. |
