Joni J. Goheen

Joni Goheen is the principal owner and Managing Director of Terranova Pictures, serving as ex ecutive producer, production manager, and director of marketing for the company’s production ventures.

Joni’s production credits are varied and numerous. She was Executive Producer of American Nizoni, an award winning documentary focusing on the aspirations of young Navajo women. She served as an Associate Producer of Lady Warriors, an HBO documentary that received numerous Audience and Best Picture awards at various nation wide film festivals. Joni’s work as a producer and story presenter has taken her to Africa on a number of occasions, for projects about Saharan caravan traders in Mali, families divided by civil war in Liberia, and the search by African-Americans for family ties in Senegal and The Gambia. Other assignments include projects in Cambodia, Vietnam, Peru, India, and other countries.

In the area of Program Development, Joni has been an integral component in the creation, production, and distribution of programming bearing the Terranova Pictures brand. She has led the production teams responsible for creating a number of television pilot programs, including Yard Sale Showdown, Talent Town, and Finding the Country. For these productions, she coordinated the complicated logistical requirements of location shooting while also contributing to the creative process from pre-production planning to the final edit.

In addition to her television accomplishments, Joni Goheen has more than 20 years experience as a top marketing executive and has been honored in this field with more than 20 local, regional, and national awards. She has directed strategic communications for, among others, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Investment Company Institute, Merrill-Lynch, the State of Colorado, and the Office of the Mayor of Denver.

Joni’s experience in marketing and communications encompasses significant public policy issues and major event managing and promotion. These skills serve her well in her role with Terranova Pictures, where she is responsible for managing the myriad elements of television production, marketing, and distribution.
