
Pat Woodard is the primary scriptwriter for Terranova Pictures' large format cinema productions and related products.
Mr. Woodard is an acclaimed journalist and writer with nearly three decades of experience in the field of broadcast journalism. He has won more than 100 awards for television excellence, including a dozen Emmys and seven Edward R. Murrow awards. In fact, the Edward R. Murrow for writing was established only two years ago, and Mr. Woodard has won it both years of its existence. In particular, his writing is known for the manner in which it enhances the pictures on the screen instead of getting in their way. In addition, he is sought after as a teacher of writing and storytelling, having served on the faculty of a number of national workshops as well as consulting individual television stations and their staffs in creative storytelling techniques.
Mr. Woodard has produced and written a number of award winning documentaries that have taken him around the world. He has documented major events in Eastern Europe, China, Vietnam, and Central America. A number of other foreign assignments yielded television specials that aired in prime time.
Mr. Woodard has written for "Discovery News," a science-based news magazine program airing on the Discovery Channel, the National Geographic Channel, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Agency for International Development (AID), Soil Conservation Service (SCS), Department of Health and Human Services, and the Consortium for International Development.
For the last thirteen years, Pat Woodard had made Denver, Colorado his home and base of operations. Prior to that he worked at radio and television news outlets in cities such as San Francisco, Seattle, and New York, where he spent five years as a reporter for CBS News.
