Mr. Taylor is an award-winning cinematographer with twenty years experience in large format, feature films, documentaries, and horts. He has worked on large format films such as the Academy Award nominated Alaska: Spirit of the Wild, Wildfire: Feel the Heat, Amazing Journeys, Our Country (the story of country music), All Access, and Home of Freedom. He also shot the ground breaking IMAX drama Loch Lomond: Legend of the Loch. Mr. Taylor recently went to Siberia to begin production on the IMAX film, Secrets of Siberia and begins production on The Brain: An Amazing Tour, this spring, which uses the Tour de France to tell the story of the brain. He will be awarded the Kodak Vision Award this year.
Mr. Taylor's feature film credits include Sparkler, Morning and Riders, which appeared at the 2001 Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. He was recently the 2nd Unit Director of Photography with director Michael Apted on Sony Pictures Enough, starring Jennifer Lopez. He won the 1999 International Cinematographers Guild Film Showcase award for his work on the 35mm short film Grind, directed by Greg Eliason.
He began his career in 1982 shooting live sports for ESPN. He continued to use this experience shooting the IMAX films Michael Jordon to the Max, Olympic Glory and Disney's Ultimate X, a film about the X Games and its athletes. Mr. Taylor has worked extensively in Tanzania, Kenya, Japan, Taiwan, Argentina, Alaska, Russia, Scotland, Christmas Island, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines.
Mr. Taylor has a degree in Radio, Television and Film from the University of North Carolina.
